LIONS RE-SIGN TE WILL HELLER AND SIGN WR BRIAN CLARK; RELEASE DE DEWAYNE WHITE

Allen Park, Mich. - The Detroit Lions announced today that they have re-signed TE Will Heller to a three-year deal and signed free agent WR Brian Clark to a one-year deal. Additional contract terms were not disclosed. The team also released DE Dewayne White.

Heller (6-6, 275) joined the Lions last offseason as an unrestricted free agent. He set career highs during his first season in Detroit with 29 receptions and 296 yards while matching a career-high with three touchdowns. Heller played in all 16 games in 2009 with nine starts.

Clark (6-2, 204) comes to Detroit to compete at the wide receiver position and contribute on special teams. In 34 career games with Tampa Bay and Denver, he has 29 kickoff returns for 636 yards (21.9 avg.), 26 special teams tackles, a blocked punt and a special team fumble recovery. Clark, who entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Broncos (2006), also has 11 career receptions for 100 yards.
