Opening statement:
"Zack Follett should be en route to Detroit fairly soon. He’s flying back today. He’s doing a lot better. His tests all came back very, very encouraging. We look forward to a quick recovery and seeing him back on the field sometime."
On how long he expects QB Shaun Hill to be out:
"I don’t know if he’s being operated on right now or if it’s further on down the road today but he’ll have his broken arm operated on. After that, I really don’t know. It’s going to be a few weeks but it’s a little too early. It’s his non-throwing arm. It depends on what kind of cast and everything else that could be put on it. I don’t want to put a time table on it but there’s going to be some missed time with it."
On if he thinks QB Matthew Stafford will be the starter against Washington:
"I don’t want to say hope, but anytime you’re talking about injury there is a degree of hope, because you never know exactly how someone is going to respond to an increased workload. He did throw last week. He had been throwing on a limited basis before that. So, hopefully we can keep him on track and we can be smart about how we use him and get him ready for that, but that’s definitely the plan."
The Lions have a bye week coming up and will be out of action this weekend.
