The team met today and reviewed film from Sunday’s 28-26 loss at Green Bay. The players are off Tuesday and will return to the practice field Wednesday.
Lions QB Shaun Hill scrambled up the middle and rushed for a 40-yard gain that helped set up a Lions field goal in the third quarter at Green Bay (10/3). His 40-yard rush is the longest of his career and it is the longest by a quarterback thus far in 2010. The last time a Lions quarterback rushed for a 40-yard gain was QB Gary Danielson vs. Minnesota September 23, 1984. The 40-yard rush also tied for the sixth longest rush by a Lions quarterback since 1948.
For the 22nd time in Jason Hanson’s career, he made four field goals in a single game. At Green Bay (10/3), he made field goals of 39, 52, 49 and 24 yards and is now tied with K Gary Anderson for third place in NFL History for the most games with four field goals.
Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew finished the game with 8 catches for 91 yards. His eight catches were a career high and they were the fourth-most by a Lions tight end in a single game since 1960, and the most since TE David Hill grabbed nine passes vs. Green Bay October 25, 1981.
The Lions special teams unit forced two fumbles on kickoff returns at Green Bay (10/3) marking their 10th takeaway over the past three years (2008-10) which is the most in the NFL during that span.
